The Elephant in the Room

One thing I’ve learned over the years, is that I never know what kind of trauma a client has faced.  So I’ve become very practiced in knowing when to move in and fight for her, and when to let her go.

🖤

I want to talk with you about fear.  Fear is the elephant of every room I’ve ever shot in.  You worry you can’t “be sexy”, you worry your outfit is too tight/too short/too risque/not the right color/not the right style.  You worry that you’ll get your gallery and hate your pictures–that you’ll be the one I couldn’t make feel beautiful.  You worry about spending money on yourself–and your mind goes through all the different things you could invest your hard earned dollars on.  You worry you didn’t lose enough weight, that this would have been more fun if you had done it “pre-baby”, that you aren’t in your twenties anymore.  Above all, you worry you’ll regret it.

🖤

I get it, I do.  Trust me, I’ve had all those same fears about a multitude of different things.  Even the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on–was reeling in those fears.  But at the end of the day, you have a choice.  You are the gatekeeper of your own heart and thoughts, and you get to decide which ones will keep you playing small–which ones will completely paralyze you and keep you from life-changing experiences.  If you are a long-time follower, have visited my website, have been a shameless lurker…it’s because something is keeping you here.  There is some part of you that wants to experience what it is to be free–free of self-ridicule, free of self-doubt, free to feel incredible.

🖤

I want you to be one of the ones that decides to say “SCREW IT” and do it SCARED SHITLESS.  It doesn’t matter that you are afraid, what matters is that you just decide to do it anyways.

🖤

Be really careful when you play with the words “some day”..they have a way of turning into “never”. Always bet on yourself (and on me…cause I got this shit).
